Foot Clinics: For ages 55 years and older.Outreach, education, Women's Health Fairs. Services include communicable disease reporting and investigation epidemiology, informational and referral chronic disease prevention and intervention. Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program/Care for Yourself: Services for mammograms and PAP smears for women 21-64 years who meet income guidelines.EMS: Butler County Public Health is coordinating the Butler County EMS Association and their services.Community Assessment: Assessment of community to determine needs and assist in program planning. The Butler County Health Department was created in 1948 when county residents approved the establishment of a property tax to support public health activities.We provide nursing, home care aide, homemaker and respite services under the waivers. All Waivers: AIDS/HIV, Elderly, Ill and Handicapped, Brain Injury and MR.Office clinics are on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Infants, children, adolescents - DTAP, OPV, IPV, HIB, Varicella, MMR, Hep B, and Td. Immunizations: All immunizations are available in the office, at schools or in private homes.Many other service activities are included in this program as well. Services include personal cares, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation and patient assistance with exercises. Home Care Aide/Homemaker Services: Nurse Aides providing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.Also includes visits for health teaching regarding various disease processes to all ages. Health Promotion: Include visits to new moms and babies to offer assistance and give available resources, provide some teaching regarding childcare, immunizations, etc.Skilled Nursing: Nursing visits to patients in their homes to teach and train, administer meds, tube feeding, catheter care, wound care, ostomy care, rehabilitation nursing (many activities included in this category).Butler County Public Health offers a variety of different programs and services to the residents of Butler County.
